August 7th - Twilight Track Meet - Race Results
34 Individuals from Age 3 to Retiree showed up on a beautiful summer evening ready to fly around the track! The competition was fierce, the “Glory Days” relived, and the laughter was contagious. The events were: 1600m, 100m, Shot Put, 400m, 200m, Long Jump, and 800m.
The Mile was on track to be sub-5, but they just couldn’t hang, Matt S topped in 7 seconds over. High Schooler, Kelson W, stole the 100 by nearly a full second - what did you expect?!? The brawn of Shawn hurled the Shot Put for a decisive win. Matt S turned the after- burners on for the 400 to hold off Kelson W, with the first female, Erin O, HOT on their heels! The shorter the distance, the younger the winner with Kelson W taking the 200 as well. Long legged McKenze came in well ahead of competitors in the long jump - although she was the only one to prep and set her marks! Reuben L, by a hair, stole the 800, never to give up to a young gun breathing down his neck. But with all that, it may be the little tykes that really stole the show - what fun to see an up and coming generation of runners!
