Survive the Pandemic Virtual Marathon

MRM is hosting at virtual marathon to encourage runners to get out and run and keep healthy.

The Monadnock Regional Milers club is sponsoring a virtual Marathon, the “Survive the Pandemic Virtual Marathon”, for MRM members.  (If you are not a member but you wish to participate, MRM memberships are only $15/single member; $20/ family, available through our website here (a great bargain, given our predilection for prizes, food, and celebrations!))

The “Survive the Pandemic Virtual Marathon” started Sunday, April 5th, and will run for 8 weeks. Each week each runner member can post a run completed that week, by posting the run recorded by Garmin, other fitwatch apps, Strava, Active, Runkeeper, Runcoach, etc., to the website. Post your run here. The next week (Sunday to Saturday midnight) another run can be posted. Club members who complete runs totaling at least a marathon (26.2 miles) by the end of the eighth week will “win” a t-shirt commemorating the Virtual Marathon.

We wish you to be safe!  Be visible, be aware of traffic and your surroundings.  Socially distance (at least 6 feet apart). The CDC recommends cloth face coverings for everyone when out in public to reduce their spread of virus when you are asymptomatic.  We’re pretty fluent with the use of balaclavas, shrugs, bandannas, scarves, etc. from our winter runs, so this shouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Remember, we can get through this Pandemic together by running safely.  Run together even though we run apart!
